Semax

ACTH(4–7) analog heptapeptide studied for BDNF and dopamine signalling in nootropic research.

HeptapeptideCognition researchBatch-tested

Overview

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from a fragment of ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone) with an added Pro-Gly-Pro tail for stability.

Developed in the Russian research lineage, it is studied in cognition, memory, and neuroprotection research models — frequently paired with Selank.

Mechanism of interest

  • BDNF signalling — research associates it with increased brain-derived neurotrophic factor in study models.
  • Dopamine pathways — studied for effects on dopaminergic signalling linked to attention.
  • Neuroprotection — investigated in models of oxidative and ischemic stress.
