Selank
Tuftsin-analog heptapeptide studied for anti-anxiety effects via GABA and serotonin pathways.
Overview
Selank is a synthetic heptapeptide based on tuftsin, a fragment of an immune-system molecule, with a stabilizing tail.
From the same Russian research lineage as Semax, it is studied in anxiety and mood research models — of interest for reducing anxious signalling without the sedation associated with classic anxiolytics.
Mechanism of interest
- GABA pathways — studied for gently modulating the brain's inhibitory (calming) system.
- Serotonin signalling — investigated for effects on serotonergic tone linked to mood.
- Non-sedating profile — research interest centers on anxiolytic effects without drowsiness in study models.
