PT-141

Melanocortin-receptor agonist (bremelanotide) studied in sexual-function and libido research models. Single 10 mg vial.

Overview

PT-141 (bremelanotide) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analog of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH) and an active metabolite of melanotan II, developed as a melanocortin-receptor agonist.

Unlike vasodilator research compounds that act on the peripheral vasculature, PT-141 is studied for its action on central melanocortin pathways, making it a distinct tool compound in sexual-behavior and libido research models.

Current batch is independently verified — chromatographic purity by HPLC-UV with identity confirmed by mass spectrometry (LC-MS). See the Certificate of Analysis below.

Mechanism of interest

  • Melanocortin-receptor agonism — activates central melanocortin receptors (principally MC4R, with MC3R activity) in research models.
  • Central pathway — studied for modulating sexual-arousal signaling upstream of the vascular effects targeted by PDE5-inhibitor research.
  • α-MSH analog — a cyclic heptapeptide derived from the melanotan II scaffold, investigated for melanocortin-system signaling.
